There are honestly so many. Salem’s one of those towns where every corner looks like a photo waiting to happen. My camera roll is full every time I go. No joke between my wife and I, last visit we took over 3,000 photos. The big one everyone takes pictures at is Ropes Mansion, especially in October. That’s the white house from Hocus Pocus, and it’s got that perfect spooky fall vibe with pumpkins all over the steps.

Old Burying Point Cemetery is another great spot of photos, it’s creepy but in a cool way, especially when the leaves start changing. If you go early in the morning or around sunset, you can get really good shots without a crowd. Essex Street is always great too. Between the witch shops, street performers, and Halloween decorations, you’ll find something worth taking a picture of every few feet.

The House of the Seven Gables has this classic New England look, especially with the ocean in the background. If you walk down by the Salem Maritime area, you can get pictures of the ships and the Derby Warf Lighthouse it looks straight out of a postcard. The Witch House is another must, it’s black and super gothic looking, so it pops in photos.

For food pics, Ugly Mug Diner has the cutest breakfast plates and coffee art, and Red’s Sandwich Shop is perfect for those old-school diner vibes. Rockafellas is fun at night when the lights are on and everyone’s dressed up.

During October, Salem Common and all the side streets are full of pumpkins, fall leaves, and old houses with spooky decorations. Even random alleyways look amazing. Honestly, if you just walk around with your phone, you’ll find like ten photo spots in one block.

If you go in December, the town looks totally different but still just as pretty, lights, wreaths, and snow on all the old buildings. It’s got that cozy haunted Christmas feeling.

I would most definitely say if you’re into taking pictures, you’re gonna love Salem. Every street looks like it belongs on Instagram.
